The cupcakes were a huge hit at school and when he returned on Thursday evening, we had his favorite dinner, chicken enchiladas. Afterwards, he opened his presents.....
Love this!
These are posters we found at the Scout Store. We had them mounted so he could hang them in his room. I won't bore you with photos of all the presents - but this was kind of a "Scout" birthday. He received a new belt for his uniform, along with his sash to hold all of his merrit badges. We also found a nice book cover for his Scout Book. Sasha bought him the Lego Pirates of the Caribbean Wii game. Very cool! He was very excited about that! Thanks Sasha!
Time for cake and singing! We used his leftover cupcakes because I was making a different cake for Saturday when the family came over to celebrate.
Singing......
Meggie and Anne found the box that the guitar came in to be quite comfy.
On Friday night, we went to The Red Elephant for dinner! This is always a special treat. For those of you in Jacksonville who have never been - it's a must!!!! It's off of San Jose Blvd. Go north and it's on the right - before the Loop. To give you an idea - it's similar to a Loop x 100! AWESOME!!!!
Side note: I changed the batteries in my camera before we left the house. When we arrived at Red Elephant, I realized that I left it sitting on the kitchen counter! So the following pictures are taken with my cell phone. Not my first choice when documenting - but thankful to have it!
The "Elephant Burger"!
More singing.....
They brought us an "Elephant Ear" with a candle for Jarod. I'm beginning to see a theme.
Yummy doughnut like pastry - shaped like and elephant ear - covered with cinnamon, sugar and powdered sugar. Yummmmm.
Cool "Balloon Guy" came around and made the kids balloon animals. Anne wanted a Seahorse.
Jarod got a cool Birthday hat! LOVE IT!!!
Then it was time for some mini-golf!
Nice form
Posing - she's so funny.
What a handsome guy! I'll meet him on the green any day!
I guess Anne gets the posing honestly! Ha!
This is how we kill time waiting for the people in front of us!
Did you know Golf clubs made excellent swords? Or maybe they were Light Sabers - not sure.
More posing!
We played 2 rounds of 18 holes and had a blast! I will would say that I won both games, but that just wouldn't be nice.
After golf, we headed to Brewsters for ice cream and then came home and crashed! It was a great family night!
Saturday was another day of celebrating! Nana and Papa came over. Along with Marc, Sam & Chloe. We grilled and had a special time hanging out and once again honoring Jarod. Marc helped hang the cool guitar over Jarod's bed in his room. Thanks Uncle Marc!
Chloe helped open presents!
Jarod received some new shirts, some cash, a gift card to Academy, a cool book on Myths and Legends from Uncle Ray and the "Through My Eyes" biography by Tim Tebow. He hasn't put it down since! Great call Nana!
Even more singing.....
And blowing!
And eating! Love the ice cream hanging off her nose!
All in all, I would say a good time was had by all.
Happy Birthday Jarod!
Your birthday celebration is officially over.
