Spring Break and Other Miscellaneous

Spring Break began a week ago Friday.  Jarod took off for his first two night camp out with the Boy Scouts and this time - without Dad.  He did great!

While he was gone - Anne and I had a visit from this little one:
How cute is she?  Love my little Chloe!  Can't believe how big she is getting.  She is such a sweet one.  Love how she says, "Thank You Much!"  Too Cute!

Had to take this photo.  This was Jarod's favorite duck when he was Chloe's age.  She found it and had to have her nap with it.  Love it!

We spent a fun day with her on Saturday and then after church on Sunday, Anne and I picked up Jarod from camp and headed down to New Port Richey to visit with Sasha and Jeff for a few days!  Jarod did not stop talking the entire trip!  The. Entire. Trip.  He had such a fun time at camp.

We did a whole lot of nothing at Sasha's house.  Sat by the pool, went to the beach, did a little shopping.  Stayed up late - slept in.  It was so nice - as always.

I will say that the water was a bit cold still so the kids did a lot of playing around and on top of the water instead of in it.  For example:
Standing on the raft
Using our feet to play in the fountains

Using the raft as a boat

We did spend a day on Clearwater Beach.  I had never been before so this was a nice treat!  The day was gorgeous and the water was a little warmer.  At least for the kids.

We were attacked by pirates!  How cool is that?

Anne thought it was real (firing the cannon didn't help) and came running up the beach yelling, "Mom!  We have to leave - Pirates are coming!"  Ha!

She decided to stay safe on the beach and work on a sandcastle

Jarod helped

Maybe I should have helped too!  Too bad Daddy wasn't there - he makes great sandcastles.  They had a hard time with the sand/water ratio.  Something we don't have to worry about when we go to the beach at St. Augustine.  The sand is so compacted because you can drive your car on the beach - that sandcastles are easy.

Then Anne decided she wanted to get buried in the sand.  She got up quickly when Jarod accidentally tossed sand in her face.  Thus I didn't get another picture.

We watched several "happy" para-sailors throughout the day.

And Jarod attempted to use his boogie board in the Gulf.  Again - very different from our beaches.

Not too bad....

Is it just me or does he look so  ----  old ---- here?  UGH!

Love this one!  Still getting the sand rinsed off.......

Maybe if she goes out a little deeper - but there's Pelicans.....
These guys kept diving pretty close to the kids

I guess lunch time was more important than a few kids swimming close by.

And then there's these guys:
One of them literally swooped down and stole a piece of cheese out of my hand!  Little lunch thieves!  I was sitting with the kids and had just taken a bite.  I didn't have it far from my mouth and he did a major fly by and took it!  Scared me to death!  Can they even eat cheese?  I wonder if he got sick - maybe he deserves it.  LOL!

All in all it was a fun day with lots of memories!  Thanks Sasha for such a great time!

We came home late Wednesday night and have just been enjoying our time off the rest of the week.  I have upgraded to a Smart Phone and don't feel very smart.  Just trying to maneuver my way around it has consumed a few days.  I think I'm finally catching on though.  My previous phone was over 3 years old - didn't even have any G's!  I am excited that I can manage my Calligraphy emails and scheduling with it.  That will be a big help.

The kids go back to school on Monday and we enter into the final 9 weeks!  I can't believe the end of the school year is quickly approaching!  Wasn't it just yesterday that I was adjusting to Anne being in Kindergarten?  How time flies.  Our summer is already filling up with activities which will give me many more opportunities to blog!  Until next time.......
