2 Days and Counting....

Back row - left to right -   Joy, Zoe, Rick, Mike and Elysia
Front row - left to right -   Me, Chey, Jarod and Donna

Here we all are!  Well - minus Russell.  He was leading the Wednesday night Bible Study at church.  But you all know what he looks like.

We met tonight to pack.  Shelley asked us several weeks ago if we would be "Pack Mules" and bring stuff into Haiti for her.  It's cheaper to do it this way then have it shipped.  So - it's been kind of comical at my house.  One day I had a box through the Post Office and then the UPS guys showed up and a half an hour later the FedEx guy came!  Other stuff has been trickling in as well.

So we decided to have a packing party.  Nine suitcases (at just under 50 pounds a piece) and an hour later and we were done!  Whoo hoo!  It was a lot of fun.  The bonus is that all these extra suitcases will allow me to bring a bunch of stuff back for the fair!!!

I'm so excited about this team that God has chosen.  Who but God knew that I would be leading a group to Apparent Project only a year after my first visit?  It's been a learning time for me and I am still humbled and amazed by it all.

We have been meeting every Sunday evening for the past 9 weeks in preparation.  Hearts have already been changed and we haven't even got on the plane yet.  Everyone worked so well together tonight and that was a great encouragement.

We have a better idea about all that we will be doing while we are there.  Very exciting stuff!  Apparent Project is once again expanding!  Shelley's family has rented a new house for them to live in and the artisans are going to overflow into their current one.  Our team is going to be helping them clean, paint and move into the new house!  Shelley even asked us to take on Keziah's room - her 9 1/2 year old daughter who has never had her own space.  Extreme Makeover Haiti Edition!!!!  We are thrilled.  She asked us about it this past Sunday and we have been planning and preparing all week!  Cannot wait to do this for them!

We pull away from the church on Saturday morning at 6 am.  Anne will be riding with us as she is going to Sasha's house in New Port Richey for part of the week and then back up here to stay with Nana, Papa and Uncle Ray.

Please pray for us - for our families - for our team.

Keep an eye out on my blog - I plan to write everyday like before.

Until next time......
